This event couldn’t possibly be a success without the collaboration and contributions of so many different people and companies. I would like to take a moment to thank them here for their part in the 2018 Bass Bash!
First — let me thank all of the great sponsors and vendors who have contributed funds and donated giveaways for the raffle. In order to put on these shows in larger venues to accommodate our growing audience, the expenses for venue rental and production have increased considerably over the years. The Bass Bash could not happen without their generosity. I can’t express my gratitude enough for your willingness to continue to support live music!
But, don’t let me forget YOU, the audience! 2017 was the first year that there was an admission charge. Because of this, the expense of the concerts were met, l and I want to thank you all in advance for your support of this event over the many years. Without YOU, this 15 year tradition could not continue. Let’s keep this low end tradition alive!
Although Jack Trifiro cannot be with us to run sound again this year, he will be working behind the scenes advancing the show and has been invaluable to me as always. Jack is one of the best Production Managers I know in the industry who is tour manager and runs front of house sound for Victor Wooten. I trust you above anyone else for advice on production for this gig and any gig… Jack, I am your forever grateful for all that you do for me – you rock!
Thank you, Justin Huth for the fabulous job updating the website! It overdue for some updating and he did not disappoint! Thanks for continuing to be a friend and helping me put together a lineup that always makes the Bass Bash a great success!
Thank you, Dave Avenius at Aguilar Amplification – Aguilar has been supporting this great event in so many ways since its origins about 14 years ago. I could not have done this without the expertise, friendship and continued support that has been extended to me. Over the years, your professionalism never ceases to amaze me, as do the entire staff at your organization. It is always a great pleasure to collaborate on any project with you.
This year I am grateful to have Kristin Bidwell, CEO of Fluency 34, join the Bass Bash team and assist with social media and sponsorship. These items are more time consuming than I can handle on my own and I couldn’t think of a better person to rely on. Kristin is a very talented bass player, educator and an entrepreneur in the music community. Her professionalism and positive attitude make for the perfect addition to the team!
There’s someone I need to thank that is not visible much in the bass community, but has been my biggest supporter – my daughter, Shauna Weber. It’s a huge undertaking to organize this event and if it wasn’t for her support and always believing in me, it would not happen each year. She’s a fabulous jeweler and some of her bass clefs pendants in solid sterling silver or bronze will be for sale at the shows if you are interested.
Joining me personal assistants at the event will be volunteer assistants whose names I will add here as I progress. They will all be helping me sell tickets at the door, sell raffle tickets, and assist with administrative needs during the event and at NAMM as liaison with the VIP sponsors and vendors.
I want to thank Martyn Claes of Auntie M Creative Consultants for providing us with production again this year. If you’re looking for pro audio sound and event services, you have to check these guys out. They’ve been incredible to work with and the production of the 2017 Bash was unparalleled!
Our audio engineer from Auntie M, Moises Estrada and audio tech Michael Claes will be volunteer stage hand Chris DeMott. If you see them running back and forth from the stage, give them room! These guys are brave to take on this job for two nights – thanks so much for volunteering your time and services. It is greatly appreciated by the Bass Bash team.
We will have press coverage by No Treble, Bass Player Magazine and Bass Musician Magazine. It is an honor to have these publications present at the event. Thank you so much for supporting this great annual event!
If you see me at NAMM or at the Bass Bash, please come up and say hello. I look forward to seeing you in January!
